Q: What do I need to get started?
A: Contact us to arrange an initial meeting and office computing environment assessment. Assessment results are ready in 3 business days or less, at which point a follow-up meeting takes place, where an agreement is signed. Over the course of next several days, while computers are being configured for your office, your staff will gather any and all documents and files from your old computers and organize and store them onto your new cloud as per our detailed instructions. During our third office visit, the new hardware is deployed and your staff is provided documentation and demonstration on how to use it.
Q: I already have good computers. Can we use them? Do I get a discount?
A: What makes VOLNAX flat-rate IT model economically viable (same as any real IT support) is a high consistency of hardware
and software configurations across all computers. It would actually cost more to support a different computer for several years than what that
computer costs. In addition, we would not be able to fulfill our replacement SLA for hardware diagnostics and parts replacement that we do not stock
in-house. That said, we may be able to support a small number of premium configurations, provided they meet or exceed performance requirements set for
our standard computers. That determination is made on a case-by-case basis during the office computing environment assessment.
Q: What happens to my old computers?
A: You keep them, or we recycle them in an environmentally-friendly way. However, you can't continue using them in the office beyond
the fixed transition period, as they introduce a possibility for staff confusion and virus or other spyware entry onto your network. Our prices are based on
the premise that these issues are not present during the support period.
Q: We have a huge network printer or another such device we absolutely need.
A: We understand the realities and needs of small and medium offices. Network-connected industrial printers, large-format scanners, digital X-rays and other such devices
that are essential to your business and represent a significant capital investment, will be supported at a standard supported device rate, provided they are not
on our unsupported list. Your existing servicing agreement with the suppording vendor for these devices stays in place; the standard supported device rate
covers our support of the interaction of this device with your office computers.
Q: We have essential USB peripherals that require drivers.
A: USB peripherals not on our unsupported list, can be supported. A professional services charge will apply to on-board the support (including driver
installation). The good news is, this is a one-time charge and if you have multiple identical devices, the charge applies only once.
Q: What puts a piece of hardware or a software on your unsupported list?
A: Lack of compatibility with up-to-date operating systems or web browsers; spyware in drivers that we can't eliminate; such poor performance,
stability, or vendor support that they make it impossible for us to fulfill our SLA to you. In most cases we will be able to recommend a supported
replacement. If no supported replacement is available, and the device or software in question are essential to your business, we may be able to offer
limited support via our professional services and with an amended SLA.
Q: Can I discontinue at any time?
A: Yes, just pay the pro-rated costs of hardware, software licensing, and configuration services.
